This morning it is my great pleasure and honor to give a big happy birthday shout out to one of my favorite actors, and Facebook friend, Bruno Amato!
Little is known of Bruno's personal life for he dark and mysterious, just like our other actor friends, the lovely Benita Robledo and Jennifer Blaire. Perhaps, like Benita and Jennifer, he will add a comment to this post and fill in some of the blanks. However I will relate what we do know.
Bruno was born at a very early age in  Orange, New Jersey, which is located at 40° 46′ 4.94″ N, 74° 14′ 8.49″ W., and was originally part of Newark, until the Great War of the Newark Mountains of 1780 when Orange freed itself out of Newark's greedy grasp. The good people of Orange became famous for making hats, then switched to beer and adding machines in the 1900s. The great actor William Bendix of "The Life of Riley" ("What a revoltin' development this is!") lived there for a while. As it happens Mr. Bendix is now buried near my father's gave at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery, in the San Fernando Valley. So is Bob Hope.
   But I digress.
After High School Bruno joined the United States Navy, becoming a Torpedoman's Mate, a person who looked after underwater ordinance. The occupational rating of Torpedoman's Mate was disestablished in 2007, merging with either a Gunner's Mate, or a Machinist's Mate, depending on what type of ship was being served on. I myself was a Boatswain Mate, and got to paint things and steer the ship occasionally.
   But I digress.
Little is known of what the hell Bruno did after leaving the Navy and deciding to become an actor in 1999, at the age of 38. Perhaps he was an astronaut or phlebotomist, who knows? I certainly don't.  Perhaps he'll tell us. Let's cross our fingers.
What we do know is that Bruno started out in New York, becoming a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and since 2000 has made a successful living in the acting profession, appearing in a whole bunch of movie and television roles.
His first appearance was in something called "Entourage," as a club doorman. In chronological order (according to the IMDB) he's appeared on the soap opera "All of my Children," the film "Just a Kiss," with the lovely Kyra Sedgwick  and Marisa Tomei, the television show "Hunter," "The O.C." "Desperate Housewives," Malcolm in the Middle," "Monk," "ER", "House," "Two and a Half Men," "Las Vegas," as the wrecking ball operator in "Evan Almighty," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," "Days of Our Lives," as Fred Cana on the TV series "Castle."
Here's a clip from that episode:

He's appeared on one of my niece's favorite shows, "Criminal Minds." Here's a clip:

Here's clip from the film "Murder on the 13th Floor."

He appeared on "The Newsroom," which I believe is currently my sister's favorite show, and certainly one of mine.
He's been on the current television comedy "2 Broke Girls," which stars the lovely Kat Dennings, a lady I love for three reasons, one of them being her acting ability.
He's worked on many other fine projects as well.
Although IMDB doesn't mention it, I happen to know that Bruno has appeared on the motorcycle crime drama, "Sons of Anarchy." There's a picture of him with the shows star, Charlie Hunnam (who's a British actor) above. Hunnam's character, Jackson 'Jax' Teller, is admired so much by my niece Keri, that she named her son, my grandnephew, after him (she wants an autograph Bruno), Jaxen.
So Bruno's been pretty busy since deciding to become an actor.
Bruno and I became friends on Facebook after he read some comment I made regarding people like the Koch brothers, who I had labeled as traitors to this country. Why would I do that? Because I believe people who put their own ideology or interests before the common good of the entire nation, to the detriment of the entire nation, as being traitors. The good of the nation, which very much includes the middle class and poor, comes before anything else in my opinion. It's not all that complicated.
Bruno seemed to agree (his political philosophy stated as "Left... because it's right") and we hooked up.
As you can tell by our respective photographs, Bruno and I also share the same body build type, the only difference being Bruno has to work out to maintain his:

Bruno often appears in big, hulking, tough guy roles, but he's actually, a great big, sweet pussycat. As a matter of fact he has an affinity for animals, especially for large cats. I mean really large ones, like lions and tigers, and has been actively involved in advocating for them.
There's a very sad picture on Bruno's Facebook page that displays Donald Trump's sons holding up what appears to be a huge dead leopard between them, grinning at the camera like a couple of morons, apparently after just having killed it.
"Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump... sons of Donald Trump...Sometimes all the money in the world can't buy you an ounce of courage...they and their father are proof of that," Bruno captioned. I'd use a little stronger language, but you get the point.
   Let's see, what else?
Bruno's name in Elvish is Maglor Vardamir.
And somehow Bruno appears to be responsible for the  Australian Fire Devils pictured above. We don't know how he does it, but the Australians don't think it's funny at all.
And of course all of us here at Joyce's Take wish Bruno continued good health and fortune, and a very happy birthday.
   Happy birthday Bruno!
